Micro Learning Activity 3: Creating Engaging Student-Centered Activities

Learning Objective: To design engaging student-centred activities that foster active learning.

Activity:

  1. Choose a topic: Select a topic from your curriculum or an area for improvement for the school.
  2. Design an activity: Create an activity that allows students to actively engage with the material or topic. Consider these options:
    • Inquiry-based learning: Pose a question or problem and guide students to find the answer.
    • Project-based learning (Genius Hour): Assign a project that requires students to research, collaborate, and present their findings.
    • Peer-to-peer learning/tutoring: Organise group work or pair students to teach with other.
  3. Reflect: How will you assess student learning in this activity? How motivated and engaged were they during the learning activity/project?
