    Activity 1: "My Assessment Journey"

    • Focus: Reflecting on current practice and identifying areas for development.
    • Steps:
      1. Self-Reflection:
         • Choose one subject or stage.
         • Reflect on your current assessment practices in that area.
         • Consider:
           • How much of your assessment is formative vs. summative?
           • What are your most common assessment methods?
           • How do you use assessment data to inform your teaching?
           • How do you involve learners in the assessment process?
      2. Identify Areas for Growth:
         • Based on your reflection, identify 2-3 areas where you would like to improve your assessment practice.
         • Could you incorporate more formative assessment strategies?
         • Do you need to strengthen your use of data to inform planning?
         • How can you better involve learners in self-assessment?
      3. Action Planning:
         • Create a simple action plan with specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound (SMART) goals for improving your assessment practice in the chosen area.

    Activity 2: "Exploring a New Assessment Tool"

    • Focus: Deepening understanding and practical application of a specific assessment tool.
    • Steps:
      1. Choose a Tool:
         • Select one of the tools mentioned in the course (e.g., Learning Ladders, Exit Tickets, Peer Assessment Rubrics).
         • If possible, choose a tool that addresses one of your identified areas for growth from Activity 1.
      2. Research and Exploration:
         • Explore the chosen tool in more depth.
         • Find examples of how it has been used effectively in Scottish classrooms (e.g., through the LTA Thinglink, Education Scotland resources).
         • Consider how this tool could be adapted to suit the specific needs and learning styles of your students.
      3. Pilot and Refine:
         • Pilot the chosen tool in your classroom with a small group of students or in a single lesson.
         • Observe and reflect on the process:
           • How did students respond to the tool?
           • What were the strengths and weaknesses of the tool in practice?
           • What adjustments need to be made for future use?
      4. Share and Discuss:
         • Share your experience with a colleague or your department.
         • Discuss the challenges and successes of implementing the new tool.
         • Consider how to share your learning with other colleagues.

    Activity 3: "Moderation Deep Dive"

    • Focus: Enhancing understanding and application of moderation processes.
    • Steps:
      1. Review Moderation Guidance:
         • Thoroughly review the Breadth and Depth Moderation Hub and relevant guidance documents.

         • This could involve:
